9: Narwhal Salon: 16th July on "What's Next in the Field of Narratives?"
Hello Narwhals,
I hope this finds you well. This is just to let you know that there will be no Narwhal group session today — we are holding a space for reflection and thinking ahead — and will resume in 2 weeks time.
The next session will be on Thursday 16th July at 4pm on the topic of:
"What’s next in the field of narratives?”
We are lucky to be joined by Jee Kim, Exec Director at Narrative Initiative, and Cassie Robinson, Senior Head of UK Portfolio at the National Lottery Community Fund who will discuss the field of narratives and what could or should happen on the horizon.
Here is the map that Narrative Initiative use to illustrate their network-driven and field-facing approach. They parter with a range of partners and collaborators that come from a variety of disciplines — and will have a lot to contribute to this discussion on the ecosystem of narratives!
Narwhal
Narwhal is the Narratives Working-group Hopeful and Longterm. This group is for story-tellers, narrative strategists and communications experts inquiring about the longer-term narrative work needed post-COVID-19.
We have entered a liminal chapter in human history when there is an opportunity for narratives that help establish new patterns of how we organise society so that we #dontgobacktonormal. Join us if you:
Are keen to explore existing narratives and metaphors being used to describe the pandemic
Want to engage in collective sensemaking to develop stories and narratives of COVID-19 that lead to a more just and healthy world
Want an opportunity to connect or re-connect with other narrative makers who want to have an impact on the outcome of the COVID-19 pandemic
Want to challenge your understanding of stories and narratives and culture change.
Do you like what you are reading? Please go ahead and:
Thanks! We hope to see you on the 16th July and wish you a good time of rest and reflection in the meantime!
Best wishes,
Phoebe
